Why Vinyl?
There are many reasons to replace your old windows with new vinyl ones. Vinyl windows are strong, durable, energy efficient, aesthetically appealing, and require little maintenance.
All of Lifescape's replacement windows feature fusion-welded PVC Vinyl frames and sashes. The fusion- welded corners add an additional airtight barrier for your home, providing added energy savings. Vinyl is also a great insulator, superior in its resistance to heat transfer, cutting down on your heating and cooling costs throughout the year. Vinyl also withstands harsh weather and resists scratching, never peeling or cracking. Your Lifescapes windows and doors will continue to look new for years to come.
Steel Reinforcement
Without steel reinforcement, it's impossible for a vinyl window to have the structural integrity needed to prevent sash deflection. Sash deflection is the tendency of unreinforced vinyl sashes to deflect away from the glass. The results include locks that don't lock, sashes that cannot operate properly and weather seals out of alignment.
All Lifescapes windows are composite and /or steel-reinforced in all sashes. This insures optimum long-term performance. Even the strongest PVC vinyl compound available needs steel reinforcement to maintain this type of performance.
Comparing Hardware
No window can claim to be the best if the window utilizes anything less than Truth Hardware. Truth Hardware is engineered for durability and years of dependability. Lifescapes double hung and sliding windows utilize Truth cam-action locks. Our casement windows feature the Truth multi-point locking system and Truth Maxim crank-out hardware. Truth's E-Guard coatings are found on all our awning and casement windows. Second to none in corrosion resistance, E-Guard® Hardware has a multi-stage coating process and is resistant to a wide range of corrosive materials, including environmental pollutants. This process has been tested and found to be approximately three times better than common zinc plated finishes.
